Nearly four decades of Latin flavor at the table.

Since 1988, Dilosa Food Companies has been sourcing, processing, packing and distributing grains and foods. Today our products line supermarket shelves in El Salvador and reach thousands of families across the United States and Europe.

Three companies, working as one.

Dilosa Food Companies is a 100% Central American group made up of three companies. Each one takes on a part of the bean's journey, from the breadbasket of Central America to your table, at home or halfway around the world.

We bring the taste of home to every table.

We started in 1988 with something simple: beans, rice and sugar in pantry boxes for families and companies. We have kept growing ever since, and today we import, export, process and distribute beans, grains and other foods. Our brand, As de Oros, puts gold in every grain and reaches supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, corporate pantry programs, wholesale and retail. What we learned about cleaning, packing and preserving food opened the door to the United States and Europe, where today we make 30 private labels.

We cook the classic recipes.

At Difrico, short for Distribuidora de Frijoles Congelados, whole beans become a meal. We start with dry beans and cook them the Salvadoran way: refried, borracho style, for pupusas or in casamiento, ready for the frozen aisle of supermarkets and traditional markets under the As de Oros brand. And since there is more to the table than beans, we also process white and parboiled rice, rice flour and classic drinks: Horchata de Morro, Horchata de Morro con Leche, Cebada con Leche and Chocolate de Tablilla.

We export from the breadbasket of Central America.

At Exportadora Panamericana Norte we sit in the breadbasket of Central America, and that gives us an edge: we source red silk beans (rojo de seda) from across the region, then clean, polish, sort and pack them with our own machinery, in a 12-step process. Central America is our stronghold, not our limit: we also bring in grains from other origins. And logistics is what we do best: we deliver what we process to the warehouse you choose in the United States or Europe, under our brands or yours. No wonder leading brands across the United States and Latin America already trust us to make theirs.

Experts in Central American beans.

What we look for in every bean.

  • CleanNo pebbles, no twigs, no weevils, no broken beans. What goes in the bag is beans, and nothing else.
  • ConsistentWe sort by quality, moisture and weight, so every bag is just like the last.
  • GlossyEvery bean is polished. That sheen you know in red silk beans (rojo de seda) is no accident.
  • TenderThey soften fast and keep the texture you expect, just right for casamiento, soups or refried beans.
  • Homemade tasteThat traditional, homemade flavor is the first thing people mention when they cook with them every day.

Nearly four decades later, we still do what we did on day one: choose the right Central American beans. Now we do it for the world.

Our story.

  1. Hands place a bag of As de Oros red silk beans (rojo de seda) on the counter of a neighborhood store.

    1980–1990

    Where it all began

We started out selling beans, rice and sugar in pantry boxes for families and for companies like ADOC, Librería Morazán, DIANA, Avícola Salvadoreña, UCA cooperatives and local banks.

  2. A pallet of boxes and sacks of beans ready to be loaded into an export container.

    1991–2000

    Our beans head north

Salvadorans in the United States were missing the products they grew up with, so we started exporting. Back home, we brought premium beans to Despensa de Don Juan and Súper Selectos.

  3. Three frozen As de Oros packages (refried borracho beans, refried white beans and casamiento) on a steel table in a cold room.

    2010–2020

    Difrico is born

Frozen beans began as a by-product of our dry-bean business, and we registered DIFRICO. We consolidated our ownership, launched strategic planning and built our Covid-19 response plans.

  4. A quality supervisor beside an automated packing line, with the Dilosa Food Companies logo on the wall.

    2021–2024

    Transforming from within

A new go-to-market model, stronger logistics and demand planning, continuous improvement and digital transformation. Plus a new corporate structure, new machinery, and client and institutional audits and certifications.

  5. On a wooden supermarket counter, lined up from tallest to shortest, MICOCO coconut water in a 1-liter carton, a 500 ml carton and a 310 ml can.

    2025–2026

    The family grows

We expanded our portfolio with new products, and MICOCO coconut water joined our brands.
